Great Granny Square Quilt–A Really Big Finish

I am so excited to finally have my Great Granny Square quilt finished and on my bed ready for a good night’s sleep tonight.

I am thrilled with the quilting done by my friend Sue.  I used wool batting so you can really see the texture of the quilting.  The shams turned out to be just the right size and work great.  I am over the top thrilled with everything.

I used the faux flange technique for the binding on the quilt as well as the shams.  It added the perfect finishing touch and pulled in all the different colors.

Although I tweeked the pattern (ever so slightly) here is the link to the instructions I used to make my blocks.  http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/search?q=Great+Granny

  1. Your quilt looks lovely!
I haven't seen the "faux flange" binding before, so I did a bit of a search. It looks great and I think I will give it a try some time. Do you do the corners the same way as if you were sewing the binding on from the front?
