Look What I Got!

I’m just going to say it up front – I am very, very spoiled – and I love it.

My sister Melinda recently posted a picture of a Kindle case she made using selvages.  When I saw it I was very jealous and pouted just a teeny tiny little bit.  Well it worked and she agreed to make me one.

A couple of days ago she posted a picture of the completed cover and also had a picture of something else she was sending me as a little gift.  All I could tell from the picture was that it was red (I love red).  I guessed it was a hat (I have not idea why a hat popped in my head, neither one of us wears hats) but needless to say I was wrong.

Want to see pictures of my gifties?

And the red object?

Isn’t it the cutest basket you’ve ever seen?  I can think of lots of uses for it.  Melinda, is it from IKEA?

So don’t you agree, I’m a lucky duck (and spoiled) to have such a wonderful sister?

I love you big Sis!

Enjoy,

  2. The box got there quick! I didn't mail it until Tuesday. The basket is from a store here in Marietta called A Touch of Europe. I have a lime green one. I love you!

  6. Hi Robin, I do love your little gifties. I made a mock-up of something very similar for my (Returned Services League of Australia) Women's Auxiliary, as a suggestion for table prizes that I could make (I have heaps of stip scraps but am keeping the selvedges for my own projects) for our annual reunion early next year. As I have to make about 30of these, can you tell me how you finished off the sachets/bags with the binding? I am not a good bag-maker and avoid making bags like the plague but if I had a simple method of binding them, then I could get someone else who i a sewer (as there are no other quilters in our Auxiliary) to finish off the bags/sachets for me.

    With thanks, Bern, Queensland, Australia
