I just returned from a trip to New York City, and while there visited a wonderful shop called Purl located in the Soho area. I’ll blog in more detail about this wonderful shop later, but in the mean time I thought I’d share my two purchases.
First up, more oil cloth (I just love this stuff).
I’ve never seen this one before but here’s what on the selvage edge.
They weren’t giving it away so I only bought 1/2 yard. I think I’ll just make a really simple tote bag and let the fabric speak for itself.
Next, this wonderful Liberty of London fabric. It’s 60” wide and although it feels like a really fine quality cotton, it’s actually wool.
This, I think, will find its life with me to be as a “spectacular” lining in a purse. Last year when I went to Mood in New York City, I picked up, what I think will be the perfect outside fabric. I blogged about our visit to Mood back in October 2009, on our vacation blog, here.
I haven’t been in my sewing room for over a week so tomorrow, watch out, I’m sewing again.
Enjoy,
Great fabric. I'm quilting all day tomorrow. Welcome hone!
ReplyDeleteYummy fabric. I've heard a bit about this shop, but I look forward to reading your future post & hearing more about your wonderful trip.

I love the eye glass fabric. Glad you and John had a good time, welcome home
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home! That echino fabric is my new favorite stuff. You were with me at The Sewing party when I bought my pig fabric for a mere 18 bucks a yard. That's the same line. I just ordered some with cameras all over it in the same color way as your eyeglass fabric. That wool is to die for! I have heard of the Purl shop as they do yarn too. I have always wanted to go there. I hope you took pics :)
