Just about every Wednesday night my friendship group, The Wednesday Wackos, meet at a local high school. We are fortunate that the husband of one of our members works at the school and has received permission from the principal allowing us the use of a classroom every week.
Last night was a special night. We hadn’t been together on Wednesday for quite some time although quite a few of us went to Road to California together.
On New Year’s Eve day my friend Pam (you can visit her Blog here) fell and broke a bone right by her shoulder/arm socket. Marilyn rallied the troops and a group quilt was started. Marilyn collected blocks from everyone and quickly assembled the quilt top. She then turned it over to Sue (no blog) to quilt on her long arm. Then it was turned over to Margie (also no blog) to add the binding. Last night we presented Pammy with her “Hug” quilt.
That is Pam on the right and Margie on the left.
Speaking of Margie. She is our queen of hand appliqué. Last night she brought her latest project that she has been working on. This is all hand appliquéd and she did all that work in about two weeks time. I told you she’s the queen!
Here’s the top, along with pictures of some of the blocks.
Margie is the same wonderful person that made me my Halloween wall hanging that I Blogged about here. Gotta love that girl.
Enjoy,
You guys are SO awesome! What a wonderful surprise for your friend Pam! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWOW on the quilt by Margie!

Your Wednesday Wacko group sounds delightful. Beautiful quilts. Thanks for sharing insights.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you'll get Margie to enter her Christmas Quilt in my 2010 Virtual Christmas Quilt show later this year!
