Square in a Square

Yesterday my guild had a workshop teaching the square in a square method using Jody Barrow’s ruler.  I need another project like I need a hole in my head but what the heck.  I’ve had the ruler for a couple of years and have never gotten around to reading the book so this was a chance to play.

Knowing perfectly well I wasn’t going to want to make a quilt, a small wall hanging or in my case a pillow would do the trick.  I was able to get the front of the pillow finished.  Now all I have to do is quilt it and turn it into a pillow sham before the 4th of July.

  1. Would make a nice table topper too...either way it is just fun!! Did it take long with the ruler?

  2. Love it! I bought some 4th of July fabric this week. Maybe I will do something like this with it. What is the name of the ruler?
