Busy, Busy, Busy

I have started my three week countdown until I leave for Salt Lake City and Spring Market.  I thought I had everything pretty well under control and then I received a call from Clothworks in Seattle.  For some unknown reason my name was left on Joyce’s desk and we still don’t know who or exactly why other than my booth is right next door to their booth.  To make a long story short, bless her heart, Joyce had to search for a phone number for me but she found it and called.  That was just two days ago.  Since then I have agreed to make a couple of quilts for them and a couple of Letty’s bags.   The fabric is on it’s way so I’ll share it with you when it gets here.

In the mean time, that meant that although I didn’t have a lot to do, I still had two additional Letty’s bags to make using “Tucsadelphia” by Lizzie B. Cre9ive for Henry Glass & Co.  Guess I better try to get them done before the other fabric arrives.   The fabric is all cut out and ready to start sewing.  I’ll be making one for them and one for me.   I’ll keep you updated.

In the midst of all this cutting and organizing.  Guess what arrived……..

I didn’t make the cover but I have a block and my quilt is in it.  Out of 100 blocks there are 14 quilts showcased and yours truly has a quilt in the magazine.  I am so excited but I can’t share it wthl you just yet, but soon.

The quilt is on page 18 and the block is # 271 and is on page 61.

Just to add excitement to the day I had to go to the dentist.  I had a root canal a few weeks ago and today they prepared the tooth for a cap.  More Novocain, a lot of drilling (hate that sound) followed by a temporary cap.  Two more weeks and I’ll get my permanent  cap and be done with it.

One last thing.  After yesterday’s post about laminating my own fabric, someone left me a message letting me know there are two different kinds, gloss and matt, DUH!!!!  No wonder my “Click-it” bag came out sort of dull.  So on my way home from the dentist I swung by Jo-Ann’s and this time carefully read the end of the bolt.  Sure enough they had two and other than a little sticker on the end, you’d never know they were different.  Here’s the end of the glossy bolt.

And here’s some fabric with it applied and a piece of the original fabric.

I think they both have their place and purpose but for what I’m currently using it for, I like the gloss.  I’ll make another “Click-it” bag as soon as I get those two Letty’s bags made.

Whew, I’m tired just writing about everything going on so………off to work.

Enjoy,
