This entire quilt isn’t exactly on my design wall (actually it was hanging on my “design” fence) but the steps to adding the binding are on the wall. I’ll be sharing how I finished the quilt binding later this week.
This is a quilt that was made back in (I think) 2010 as a mystery taught by my sister Melinda, at our annual July Las Vegas Retreat. I managed to finish it right away and even had it quilted way back then but it quickly found it’s way into the UFO pile. I pulled it out last week and added the binding and TA-DA, it is now finished.
I added the binding using a machine Faux Flange/Piping technique. This technique has been around for a while but I have written my version of it and will be sharing it later this week. The bare bones PDF tutorial is already posted on my website but I will have detailed step-by-step words and photos within a few days.
To see what others are doing this week, head on over to Judy’s Patchwork Times blog.
Enjoy,
What a great quilt! I love the bicycle fabric and the way you put your borders on. Very clever. Aren't you happy to have it finished?
