100 Blocks Blog Tour–Day 5–May 6, 2011

I am thrilled to welcome you to my blog as part of the Quiltmaker 100 Blocks Blog Tour.   As part of the tour, you have an opportunity to win one of two magazines that will be given away to two of my readers.   Here’s the cover of the magazine with just a taste of what is inside.

QMMS-110058-COVER_2002

My block is #271, Royal Star and can be found of page 61.  The original block was made using a dark purple batik with a light pink batik background.   When I went to make the entire quilt I switched to a dark blue/green batik with a light green batik for the background.

100 BlocksSummer 2011 Block

Although I love the block by itself, when it is set on-point it takes on an entirely different look.  My quilt is included in the Designer Gallery of the magazine on page 18.

Can you find the block?   If you’re going to be a Spring Market in Salt Lake City stop by my booth #2446 to see it in person.

So how do you win one of the magazines?  First, simply leave me a comment and you’ll be entered to win.  If you become, or already are, a follower of my blog, let me know in your comment and you’ll have a second chance to win.  Remember, it’s really important that I have a way of getting ahold of you so if you show up as anonymous……..sorry, but you can’t win.  I will pick and announce the winner on Sunday night.

This is the final day of the Blog Tour, please take the time to visit the other blogs to see and read about their blocks.  Head on over to Quiltmaker to follow the other links.  The magazine will be available in stores May 10, 2011.  Check it out, you won’t be disappointed, there are 100 fabulous blocks.

Enjoy,
