Trunk Show Thursday–3/10/11

Today I thought I’d share my original Magical Slice and Dice.  This was the very first one I made and it’s really striking in person, it’s my very, very favorite.  Unfortunately, after I wrote the pattern and started taking photographs for the cover I realized a black and white quilt just doesn’t show well for a cover photo, it looks kind of flat.  So my Feeling Groovy (by Robert Kaufman) became the “star”.

And a few close-ups of some of the individual blocks.

As you can see, Magical Slice and Dice is a four-patch kaleidoscope but the uniqueness comes from how it is turned on point creating the set-in and corner triangles without ever cutting a triangle.

Here’s a picture of the cover photo.

You can see that the black and white quilt got relegated to the chair, Boo Hoo!

  1. It would be wonderful to see this quilt in person, you are right, it just does not take a good picture but the one in the picture below is awesome....

  2. Beautiful quilt. Amazing how perfectly those pieces came together. What a wonderful design.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I love knowing that I'm not alone, blogging into thin air.
