About a year ago I read an article in Mark Lipinski's magazine Quilter's Home about using a paint chip as your color inspiration for a quilt. My friendship group the "Wednesday Wacko's" decided this would be a fun challenge with the end result being donated to charity. Of course many of the Wacko's have already completed their quilts, but alas I am just now getting mine put together. Here is the paint ship I got. It from "Valspar Signature Colors" from Lowe's. The photo has the colors a little off but at least you get the idea.
So here's the finished quilt top. I love sewing curves and it's a really fast and easy way to make an interesting quilt top. I used the 7" "Crazy Curves" templates for the center blocks. Now I have to quilt it. I want to do something simple that will wear well since I have no idea where it may end up.

I tried the paint chip challenge. When I went on a shop hop this past spring I had 3 different paint chip sets and just couldn't quite do it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a great quilt! It's a perfect example of using paint chips.
