Design Wall Monday–August 18, 2015

I just back from my guild’s quilt retreat.  I had a great time sewing some and visiting a lot.  It was a great 5 days.  I made several small projects and also this quilt.

Sweetwater Barn Raising

This is one of those quilts that was all about the fabrics.  I purchased a kit at Quiltique in Henderson Nevada last month.  I love the simplicity of it but I really loved the Sweetwater fabrics.  The kit included the exact fabrics that are on the pattern cover and used in the store sample.  Because of that, it’s hard to believe but the cutting was extremely time consuming.  Maybe not the actual cutting but figuring out the cutting and trying to be organized.  The actual sewing probably took less than 2 hours.  I think it’s about 64” x 64” and I love it.

It was extremely hot in Temecula just like the rest of Southern California but a little bit of cloud cover produces gorgeous sunsets.

Sunset in Temecula

It was actually more beautiful in person but this is not bad.  Can’t wait for next years retreat.

Until next time………….

Enjoy,
