I just got back from a 4-day quilting retreat with my guild so I have lot’s to show you, but for now this is what is on my design wall.
These log cabin blocks were started last year at a retreat in Las Vegas and then again at my guild retreat last year. This weekend I managed to get them sewn on point and started working on the piano key border. This picture doesn’t do it justice, it is just gorgeous and at this point is probably one of my very favorite quilts I’ve ever made.
I hope to get it finished and ready for my guild quilt show in October. BTW it will finish about 62” x 80”.
I need a name for it (the blocks are fruits and vegetables), any suggestions?
Enjoy,

I tried to enlarge the picture to see how you used the log cabins. . . but I just don't see it. It is really cool how you got circles out of log cabin blocks. Did you design it or is it a pattern?
ReplyDeleteAs for a name how about --- Salad Balls?
Love love love it...I saw it before and after the borders, the borders added so much to it.
ReplyDeleteI love these circular log cabins! When my son graduated from High School, I let him pick a pattern for his dorm room quilt...he chose bright log cabin circles with a black background. I really like the fruits and veggies fabric you used for this. Toni
ReplyDeleteI can see why this is one of your favorites. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt and I like a name using the word "cornucopia" in it because it looks like a full harvest!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but the name "Fruit Sushi" came to my mind. I know, it doesn't take into account the veggies.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking great! The borders really set it off.
ReplyDeleteIT looks great in the picture...the borders really pulled me in for another look.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is some quilt! love it! "Chiquita" is the name that came to my mind when I first looked at your quilt....remember the lady with the sombrero with all the colorful fruit around the brim? lol...

Hi Robin,
ReplyDeleteThe name has to have "PIE" in it... maybe Pie Sale, Pie Fest, Summer Pie Harvest.
