A Finish–Valentine’s Day Table Runner

Yesterday I showed you my design wall with all the pieces cut out but nothing sewn.  Well I worked on it off and on and just finished the hand sewing on the binding a few minutes ago.

I hung it back up on my design wall to give you a little better look.

I asked my husband if I should make a square table topper or a long table runner, he picked the table runner and he arranged the colors.

I couldn’t decide what to use for the binding (I didn’t have enough of the hearts) so I found these dots and the colors seemed to work and it came from my stash, that’s a good thing.

As I was sewing the binding on and mitering the corners, I decided to take pictures showing how I make the best miters that I can.  Tomorrow I’ll share my “secrets”, but in the mean time here’s a couple of pictures of my corners.

This is the front of the quilt.  Beautiful miter if I do say so myself.  This is the back of the quilt.  The stitching is a little sloppy but check out the miter.Laughing out loud

One last picture to show you, a close-up of the heart fabric and the quilting.   The hearts will work for Valentine’s day but I think the colors will allow it to work for spring as well.
