Bags – Small and Fun

I thought I’d show you some fun little bags that I’ve made over the last few days.  I’m playing with the size and various materials.  What do you think?

Snappy Bags

These are snappy bags and are made with metal measuring tape at the top so that they snap closed.

This one is made with fabric.  I cut the metal tape a little too long, you can see it pushing each end out.  Here’s a peek at the inside.   I quilted it very simply, just enough to hold all the layers together.

Here’s one that was made to be a little coin purse.  But I don’t think it closes tight enough at the top to hold my change.  Cute polka dot lining.  Both the outside and inside are oil cloth.  I love it but it makes it difficult to turn it inside out.

This one is just about the right size to hold money, checks or receipts.  Black and white polka dots, can’t go wrong with that.

And best of all, a new little cell phone/camera bag and it was a gift!  It came to me all the way from Australia from my friend Naomi.

I love the color and it’s the perfect size for my camera.  Here’s a peek inside.  Great job Naomi.  I love it!

Naomi, I’d swear I saved the envelope it came it, but I can’t find it.  Would you please email me your address, I have a little thank you I’d like to send off to you.

Enjoy,

Side Tracked Again

Well I'm suppose to be working on what's on my design wall (see the previous post) but once again I've gotten side tracked. What could this be? I'll finish it and post a picture tomorrow.

Loyalty Card Wallet

I made this little "Loyalty Card Wallet" a while back but I never got around to sharing it. Now that I've made a purse to match, I wanted to show you how cute this little wallet is. I used a pattern that I found on A Spoonful of Sugar Blog. This sure beats the stack of cards with a rubber band around it that I used before. Thank you Lisa for the great tutorial. Here it is closed. Isn't it cute?

Here it is open but empty :(
Here it is, all filled up and ready to go. Notice it even has a Starbucks gift card right in front :)

Cupcake Pincushion

At our retreats we give out welcome packages, door prizes, contest prizes, food and other goodies but we don't normally receive gifts. What a surprise that one of our guest, Lori Eckland gave both Marilyn and I these terrific pincushions. She made them using silicone cupcake liners and filling it with walnut shells. There is a really cute button on top. She said the hard part was gluing the pincushion in side the cupcake liner. Her husband came up with the suggestion to use "Gorilla Glue" and she said it worked perfect.
Thank you Lori for such a thoughtful gift. I love it.
