Another In and Out
Here’s what I came up with.
While I was at a retreat in Big Bear, CA last week we discovered a wonderful new quilt shop, Bear Country Quilts and Gifts. Belinda is the owner and you couldn’t meet a nicer person. Her shop is filled with inspiration and lots and lots of fabric. From what I observed it seems she has entire lines of a wide variety of fabrics, everything from Civil War, brights, solids and a lot in between. If you get a chance to visit you won’t be disappointed.
A lot of fabric was purchased by just about everyone attending the retreat. I was one of the conservative purchasers. Angel
I think I’ll try to get the pieces cut so that I can make a block here and there when I get the time.
Enjoy,

Design Wall Monday–May 25, 2015
This was on my design wall earlier this week while attending a retreat in Big Bear, California. I’ve actually added some borders to it since then but it’s now too big for the design wall.
Since this picture was taken, I’ve added 3 borders. the inner and outer borders are plain but the center boarder is 2 1/2” squares that are totally scrappy. The top is ready to take to the long arm quilter but I still need to make shams to go with it. I also need to piece the backing. I’m still not sure what I’m going to have him do for the quilting. I’m looking for some recommendations.
This is a Nancy Rink design and was a block of the month through Quiltique in Henderson, Nevada.
I’m very excited to have it almost completed.

Design Wall Monday–May 18, 2015
This is my designs wall but it’s my granddaughter Emily’s project. I love that she hangs out at my house, uses my stash and sews.
She’s started working on a Scrappy Trip Around the World, a free pattern on Bonnie Hunter’s blog. She’s making this as a wedding gift for a friend of hers. It is all scrappy off whites and beiges. It’s hard to tell in this picture but the dark diagonal is red, a variety of reds but all reds.
I couldn’t resist turning the one block so that you can see how the reds will move throughout the quilt.
I think it’s going to be gorgeous.
I’ll be at a retreat all week and will try to post some pictures.
Have a great week everyone.

Design Wall Monday–May 11, 2015
This is going to be a busy week for me. Tomorrow night I’m speaking at Orange County Quilt Guild followed by a workshop on Wednesday and another workshop on Saturday. Unfortunately that means I’ll miss my Orange Grove Quilt Guild meeting but should be able to make my Quilters by the Sea meeting Thursday night. Oh and I almost forgot my husband and I have tickets to see Annie Wednesday night. Phew, I’m tired just thinking about it.
As I mentioned I will be teaching two different workshop for OCQG. My story board is all set up for my Magical Slice and Dice workshop that will be on Wednesday. It’s been a while since I’ve taught this but thankfully I have teaching notes to get me back in the grove.
Here’s a photo of the finished quilt.
I’ve made this many, many times using a wide variety of fabrics. Just in case you’re interested, my pattern for Magical Slice and Dice can be purchased from my website http://www.robinquiltsetc.com .
Next Sunday I leave for a 5 night retreat with a group of quilters. We’re headed to Big Bear which is up the mountain here in Southern California just about 1 1/2 away from home. Should be a fun week. I’ll try to post from there.
In the mean time, head on over to Judy’s blog to see what others are up to.

Design Wall Monday–May 4, 2015
Not exactly my design wall but a recently completed quilt.
It’s simply a panel with a few borders but I’m hoping a certain little someone will love it.
