Design Wall Monday–July 28, 2014

Back up on my design wall is this Mexican Star that I made while I was in Las Vegas.  It’s now time to finish folding back the curves and quilting it. 

I’ve been working on two round robins that are due next week and since they are “secret” I can’t show them.  But now that the round robins are completed I can get back to finishing this.

Hexie Travel Kit

Last night I finished the hand sewing on my Hexie Travel Kit.  I made it while my sister Melinda was visiting.  I did the sewing on the machine but before she left she did most of the other hand sewing with the exception of what I did last night.

Design Wall Monday–July 21, 2014

Last week I was in Las Vegas for my annual quilting retreat with friends from around the country.  This was my 15th year and for many years I have taught on one of the days.  This year I taught the Mexican Star that I’ve shown here many times.  But this is a new one that I made and used as a step-by-step sample for the class. 

Some of the curves haven’t been turned back and sewn yet but I’s coming right along.

I quilted and hung my completed Mexican Star this week.  I am in love with it.
