Design Wall Monday–January 27, 2014

My friendship group, The Wednesday Wacko’s,  is starting a round robin beginning in January.  The rules are minimal.  A block no bigger than 48” all the way around the outside and you have to pass each round on, on time, so we don’t get bogged down.  I am so excited to get this party started.

This is my center.  It is a South African embroidery block that I did several years ago.  I thought about turning it into a tote bag but never got around to it.  I am so happy I never finished it, I think this is what it was meant for (I just didn’t know it at  the time).

Design Wall Monday–January 6, 2014

On January 2nd, I blogged about my plan for 2014, so this morning I decided to get started pulling out some UFO’s.  I have many, many projects at various stages but I thought I’d start by sharing these two with you.  They have both been stuffed in bottom of the closet for quite sometime just waiting to be quilted.

This first one is simply a Jelly Roll race quilt with a little added something.  It was so very easy to make but I love the results.  Why oh why has it just been sitting, just waiting to be quilted?

And here’s another one that is a simple quilt but will look so cute finished and used as a tablecloth.

So this week my design wall is on the floor, but you get the idea.  To see what other’s are working on, check out Judy’s Patchwork Times blog

I’m head out of town for a few days so I may or may not be posting before next week so have a good one.

Enjoy,

2014–Looking Ahead

As I sit here on the 2nd day of the New Year I am thinking about the coming year and what I want to accomplish.  Last year I had this on my sidebar.

2014 Goal

I did pretty good in 2013 and will continue to focus on the same thing again in 2014.  But I think I need to add an additional goal.

2014 UFO

I need to complete at least some of the many UFO’s I have hidden throughout my sewing room.  I have some projects that are started, some that are in the planning stages, some that just need to be quilted and binding added and others that have been hidden for so long I don’t even remember where or what they are.  This will be a year to work on getting at least some of them completed.

Stay tuned as I find and share what’s lurking in my sewing room and most importantly what will be my first UFO to tackle.

Enjoy,
